Remodeling Services in Bozeman, MT

Your Local Contractor

I'm based right here in town and have been building in this community for years. I know the housing stock — the 1960s and 70s ranches south of Main with their pink tile bathrooms, the Craftsman bungalows near campus with plaster walls and old plumbing, the newer builds in the Northwest with builder-grade finishes that are ready for an upgrade.

These homes have character, but they also have quirks. Older homes mean knob-and-tube wiring, galvanized supply lines, and bathrooms that were designed when "storage" meant a medicine cabinet. Newer homes mean hollow-core doors, basic fixtures, and finishes that look dated within five years. I've worked on both and know what to expect behind the walls.

Our Core Services

Bathroom remodeling is my primary focus — from full gut renovations to refreshes and tub-to-shower conversions. Every bathroom project includes 3D design previews so you see your space before construction starts. More about bathroom remodeling.

Basement finishing turns unused square footage into living space — home offices, guest suites, media rooms. I handle egress windows, moisture control, and the full build. More about basement remodeling.

Custom decks and exterior work built for our freeze-thaw cycles. Cedar and composite, with proper footings below the 42" frost line and hardware that lasts. More about remodeling services.

Local Considerations

Building permits. The city requires permits for most remodeling work — bathroom renovations, basement finishes with bedrooms, structural changes, and deck construction. I handle the permit process and coordinate inspections so you don't have to navigate it yourself.

Seasonal timing. Construction season here is busiest from May through October. Interior work (bathrooms, basements) can happen year-round, but exterior projects like decks are weather-dependent. If you're planning a summer deck project, the best time to call is late winter so we can get on the schedule.

Local suppliers. I work with area suppliers including Kenyon Noble for lumber and building materials. Buying local means faster delivery, easier returns, and supporting the businesses that keep this community running.

Working with Eric on our bathroom remodel was seamless. He is an excellent communicator, provides clear estimates, and his attention to detail is unmatched. I appreciated his thoughtful recommendations throughout the process to ensure the space was functional and beautiful at the end. We would absolutely work with Heartwood Craft again.
