I'm based right here in town and have been building in this community for years. I know the housing stock — the 1960s and 70s ranches south of Main with their pink tile bathrooms, the Craftsman bungalows near campus with plaster walls and old plumbing, the newer builds in the Northwest with builder-grade finishes that are ready for an upgrade.
These homes have character, but they also have quirks. Older homes mean knob-and-tube wiring, galvanized supply lines, and bathrooms that were designed when "storage" meant a medicine cabinet. Newer homes mean hollow-core doors, basic fixtures, and finishes that look dated within five years. I've worked on both and know what to expect behind the walls.

Local Considerations
Building permits. The city requires permits for most remodeling work — bathroom renovations, basement finishes with bedrooms, structural changes, and deck construction. I handle the permit process and coordinate inspections so you don't have to navigate it yourself.
Seasonal timing. Construction season here is busiest from May through October. Interior work (bathrooms, basements) can happen year-round, but exterior projects like decks are weather-dependent. If you're planning a summer deck project, the best time to call is late winter so we can get on the schedule.
Local suppliers. I work with area suppliers including Kenyon Noble for lumber and building materials. Buying local means faster delivery, easier returns, and supporting the businesses that keep this community running.
